Flex Plan presents the final proposals for HGCC. The basic idea is that, on buying one of the golf cottages, each homeowner would also purchase a share in the centre, and the operation of the centre and its facilities would thereby become the shared responsibility of the 300 homeowners. Unfortunately, due to declining sales, the operation was unsatisfactory from the outset.
The Flexplan Group comes into financial difficulties and the homeowners, therefore, attempt to run the centre themselves, but without success.
All assets in HGCC are taken over by a new limited company, with Lars Larsen, Birdie Thinggaard and Hans-Erik Møller-Hansen as the main shareholders.
Construction of the new 18-hole golf course, New Course, is started.
New Course opens.
Vester Farm is privately purchased by the three shareholders and converted into Europe’s largest indoor golf training at 2,000 m2.
Conversion work begins on the old nursing home in Flejsborg, which re-opens laters that year as a cosy golf hotel with 16 double rooms.
Hans-Erik Møller-Hansen sells his shares to the other two shareholders.
The par-3 course is expanded during the spring with six new holes, becoming an attractive 18-hole short course, “Bette Course”.
Himmerland Golf & Resort Hotel opens. The hotel has 60 rooms with 170 beds.
Birdie Thinggaard decides to sell her shares to Lars Larsen, who has since been the sole owner of HGCC.
